Important Dates for the Holiday Show and Small Works Sale
Extended Deadline for submissions: Tuesday, November 24, 2020 by 11:59pm.

Online exhibit: All entries will be displayed online from December 1, 2020 to January 31, 2021.
Winners to be announced: Tuesday, December 8, 2020 General Board Meeting (zoom)

Entry Rules: All entrants must be a current member of the Colonie Art League. Click here to become a member or renew membership here. There is only one $10 entry fee for every CAL member who chooses to enter the Holiday Show (OR) submit (1) piece for sale in the "Small Works Sale" (OR) choose both. IMPORTANT: Please properly name your files before uploading. (see examples below) There is a submission form for the Holiday Show and a submission form for the SWS.

NOTE: The exhibit committee reserves the right to reject any entry that does not meet specifications or that the committee deems to have unsuitable subject matter.

Taking Photos of Your Artwork to Submit: For best results, take a photo of your artwork before framing. Otherwise, remove the mat, frame and glass from your piece if possible or crop out the mat and frame before uploading photo. Angle the light and camera to minimize reflection and glare if your piece is behind glass. Uploaded files of artwork must not exceed 5MB. Holiday Show

Colonie Art League members may enter one (1) original two-dimensional piece completed within the last three years and not shown in a previous CAL exhibition. There are no size limits for the finished artwork. No prints or art are to be based on greeting cards, calendar art, magazine photos, etc. Interested buyers will be instructed to contact the artist directly if the artist chooses to sell his/her artwork. Takeyce Walter, an award winning contemporary American painter and instructor, will be judging the show and selecting award recipients for each category.

Exhibit Categories:

• Paint on Canvas: oil, acrylics, and water media (any medium used in an aqueous manner)

• Paint on Paper: oil, acrylics, and water media

• Pastel

• Other: drawings (pen/ink, charcoal, pencil/graphite, colored pencil, markers), collage, mixed media (2 or more media), encaustic, photography, digital art or photography (all forms of digital including manipulated), traditional printmaking (limited edition of 10 hand-pulled original prints only) and no reproductions, giclee prints or copies.

Small Works Sale

Colonie Art League members may submit one (1) original piece no larger than 12" x 12" in size (without frame or mat) and priced at a maximum of $75. Giclee prints are acceptable but must be marked as such. Interested buyers will be instructed to contact the artist directly to purchase art.
