First Fridays have improved over the year. So much so that more citizens are recognizing the name: Colonie Art League.
These venues are very important for the success of art in the region, for the sale of members' art, and the friendships that are built from them.
Lorenz Worden has been very successful in getting much, much more done for the Broadway Art Center and the union with Colonie Art League.
However, Lorenz has had enormous assistance from many other members in this venture also. Some of those people are: Ann Roberts, Linda Nimmer, Debbie Parks-Boussu, Susan Watsky, and others. I will get the rest of the names because I believe it is important to recognize all that have contributed to the success of this gallery and the sales.
The Broadway Art Center is run with an open mind, free thoughts, and friendship building ideas. When someone offers to help, that offer is taken seriously but holds no bars. The idea of letting the members partake of whatever will promote art, is the number one successful thought behind some of the success.
I was amazed that the members WANT to gallery sit and meet friends and customers with open arms. I have noticed that the customers want to stay in the gallery; they want to talk to the gallery sitters. They are greeted with open arms and smiles. I noticed that the customers have something to say - something positive to say. Most of them were so happy we took over the space.
The different forms of art [including the sculpture and the photography] are delightful, exciting and varied.
I personally want to thank Lorenz and the crew who were determined to make this a success. YOU SUCCEEDED!
