Painting Fantastic Water in Pastel
A workshop with Robert Carsten, PSA, CPS Expand your artistic horizons in this fun and informative workshop. Hone your pastel painting skills and achieve dramatic and realistic effects that will enhance your paintings in a multitude of ways.
Day one will explore aspects of relatively still bodies of water - lakes, harbors, ponds, puddles. Reflections, surface qualities, shadows and transparency will be discussed and demonstrated.
Day two will work with moving water - rivers, streams, cascades and waves. We'll work at achieving a sense of movement - current, falling, splashing, foam, breaking waves and more.
Demonstration, at-easel assistance, group critiques and plenty of painting time will make for exciting and educational creative experience!
Bring photos and/or sketches. All levels are welcome.
