Jim McFarlane will be coming for the October 4 demo and will do a one or two-day workshop when he is here. Workshop dates are Monday October 3 and Tuesday October 4. Jim: “The most important thing to me when selecting subject matter is that the image is composed of shapes that I can make into an interesting design. Once I have selected a subject, the enjoyable part of the creative process begins and I am free to experiment with color, key and mood. I hope to initially attract the viewer with how I’ve portrayed the image; but it is with the more abstract qualities of the painting—it’s spatial design, value pattern, color harmonies and painterly brushwork—that I hope to hold them. “

The workshop will be approximately $50-55 per day. I believe single days may be available. Jim would also be willing to include a slide commentary of the AWS show in NYC if the majority of the class wished so.
